Why can't I register my .AI domain for just one year?

.AI domains require a minimum registration or renewal term of 2 years. So unfortunately, it would not be possible to register or renew an .AI domain for just 1 year.

An .AI domain can be renewed for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, up to a maximum registration period of 10 years. This means that if your .AI domain expires in 1 year, you could renew it for up to 9 additional years.
